SCHUNK Co-act grippers

Hannover Messe 2018 Mechatronic grippers for collaborative applications

Mar 2, 2018

SCHUNK will focus on grippers for collaborative applications at Hannover Messe that defines a new benchmark in assembly automation

Intelligent, compact, and easy to handle – that's how SCHUNK sees tomorrow’s way of gripping. "Even though pneumatic components will continue to play an important role, the trend is clearly moving towards mechatronics", stresses Henrik A. Schunk, Chief Executive Officer of SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG from Lauffen/Neckar, Germany, in view of the Hannover Messe. "The digital transformation of industrial production required a networked interaction between all components involved, especially handling and assembly. At the world's leading trade show of the industry, we will show how broad the spectrum of mechatronic grippers already is, how easy the modules are operated and the possibilities they offer for ‘closest to the part’ process monitoring, in other words, directly on the workpiece."

SCHUNK will focus on grippers for collaborative applications: "For human/robot collaboration to succeed, it needs end-of-arms tools that comply with the DGUV specifications and are well accepted by the people". That is what the company offers with their certified Co-act grippers. In Hanover, the company is exhibiting clever mechatronic components to both visionaries as well as practical technicians from high performance assembly industry in the truest sense of the word: With their plug-&-work-capable 24 V modular system, the gripping system specialist defines a new benchmark in assembly automation.
