Automation Industry Association (AIA) launches webinar series on ‘Advantage Manufacturing’, with active support from IIT Delhi

Automation Industry Association (AIA) and IIT Delhi recently joined hands to design and execute a micro-production showcasing for SMEs, under the ‘Samarth Udyog’ project of the Government of India. This holistic attempt to let people know how automation enabled manufacturing is going to be the new normal, includes training, customer demos and hands on experimentation.

AIA aims to usher in an era of automation in India that can help propel the manufacturing industry to quickly leapfrog to the next phase of smart manufacturing. While businesses are opting to work from home during this pandemic, here is a chance to get educated about the future of the manufacturing industry.

The webinar series initially designed and tailored for business leaders and CEOs, hosts eminent experts from the domain of industrial automation bringing together decades of experience. Speakers on May 1, 2020 were Vijay V Paranjape, former Director, Member Managing Board of Siemens; K Nandakumar, CMD, Chemtrols Industries; Dilip Sawhney, MD, Rockwell Automation; P V Sivaram, retired Chairman, B&R Industrial Automation; Ravi Agarwal, President, AIA & MD, Pepperl + Fuchs Factory Automation; Prof Sunil Jha, IIT Delhi; Anup Wadhwa, Director, AIA.

Sharing his belief on automation and the webinar series, Ravi Agarwal said, “I strongly believe that automation has a long way to go now. The industry has always been the future of manufacturing and production, and now with COVID-19 crippling the workforce, automation comes to the rescue. We have always aimed to be the platform of choice for the Indian industry to connect and exchange knowledge on topics related to automation, IoT and robotics. This webinar is specially curated for business leaders to understand the importance of automation post the pandemic. Employing a workforce after the pandemic means providing them with PPE kits, maintaining social distancing, checking temperatures, medical insurance and what not! Simply automating the process would not only ensure safety, but also enhance quality and productivity. The adoption of automation will ensure viable, efficient, sustained and smart manufacturing for business continuity and excellence.”

The segment for business leaders and CEOs will continue, with the next sessions scheduled on May 8 and May 15, 2020, focussed on ‘How automation can help the Indian manufacturing industry in rebooting post COVID-19’. This will be followed by solution focussed sessions with case studies and more.
